Pensioner dies in M9 crash near Grangemouth

Police are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the M9 near Grangemouth early on Tuesday.

The one-vehicle incident involved a grey Audi Q3. Emergency services attended, but the 73-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The northbound carriageway was closed for investigations and reopened around 9.45am.

Inspector David Marr of Road Policing East said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died. Anyone who was in the area, or has dash-cam footage that could help our investigation, is asked to come forward."
