A man has died after a blaze broke out in a flat in Falkirk.
Six fire engines rushed to the first-floor property on Davids Loan in the Bainsford area of the town around 4.30am on Saturday.
A fire service spokeswoman said: ''One casualty was removed but sadly passed away.''
Police Scotland confirmed that a man had died as a result of the incident.
A spokesmen said ''A joint investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances surrounding this fire,''
