Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was killed in a crash in Kirkcaldy.

The pedestrian died at the scene on Dunnikier Way after being struck by a BMW around 9.20pm on Tuesday night.

The 44-year-old driver was arrested in connection with road traffic offences but has since been released pending further investigation.

The road was shut for several hours while collision investigators examined the scene.

Officers say another car was in the area at the time, and are urging those inside to come forward.

Inspector James Henry said: “We believe another vehicle was in the vicinity when the crash happened. If you were there – or know who was – please contact us. Even the smallest detail could help.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 3443 of 22 April.
