Man charged with murder over death of woman in Camelon

A man has been charged with the murder of a woman in Camelon.

Officers were called to the Carmuirs Avenue area around 8.05pm on Tuesday 6th November following reports of a disturbance.

The body of a 44-year-old woman was found inside a house and a 56-year-old man was subsequently arrested.

He has now been charged in connection with this and is expected to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday 8th November.

The death is currently being treated as murder and continues to be investigated by the Major Investigation Team, supported by local officers.

Inquiries continue to be conducted at three properties within Carmuirs Avenue and a road closure remains in place at this time.

Motorists and members of the public are advised to avoid the area until further notice, where possible, and are again thanked for their co-operation.

Detectives are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the death, however officers are expected to remain in the area over the coming days.
