Man charged in connection with serious assault in Edinburgh

A 26-year-old man is due to appear in court on Tuesday

A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault in Edinburgh, and is due to appear in court today (24th January).

The incident happened on Cumnor Crescent in Edinburgh around 8:35pm on Saturday 7th of January.

The victim was approached by a man who attempted to strike him with the weapon.

Officers say the suspect was then seen entering a brown Mitsubishi Outlander, which drove off towards Glenvarloch Crescent.

Investigations have now revealed that vehicle was actually stolen from Brighouse Park Close in the early hours of the same day.

Then the same car was found on fire in Foxglove Close, Edinburgh, at around 12.10am on Monday, 9 January, 2023.
