Man charged over city centre attacks

A man has been arrested and charged following a number of assaults and robberies in Edinburgh city centre over the weekend.

The incidents all took place between 3am and 4am on Saturday 16th July.

A 38-year-old man was on Lothian Road when two men pushed him to the ground, resulting in a minor head injury.

Officers also received a report of a 21-year-old man being attacked and robbed on Princes Street.

A 24-year-old was charged yesterday (Weds 20th July).

Police are also hunting a second man believed to have been involved.

They are also keen to hear from any other victims or witnesses.
