A man is due in court after the body of a Dunfermline woman was found at a caravan park three weeks after she disappeared. Carol-Anne Taggart, 54 (pictured), was reported missing on Monday December 22. Police carried out a detailed search of her home in Hill of St Margaret on Wednesday January 7. They then searched Pettycur Caravan Park in Kinghorn, Fife, where she owned a unit, on Monday January 12.
Her body was found on the site and recovered late that evening. Police said that a 30-year-old man has been charged in connection with the investigation. He is due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court today. Detective Chief Inspector Keith Hardie said: "Throughout this enquiry we had always hoped to trace Carol-Anne and return her home safe and well. "However, following the discovery of her body we believe her death to be suspicious and a man is currently in police custody. "I would like to thank the public for their assistance and support during our investigation and would urge anyone who believes they may still have information, but has yet to contact police, to do so immediately."
