Man, 34, charged after police officer struck by vehicle in East Lothian

A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a crash involving a police officer in Haddington.

The incident happened on High Street around 3.55pm on Tuesday.

A male officer was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment and later released.

The road was closed for several hours to allow investigations and has since reopened.

Police have confirmed the man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
