Man charged after fatal hit-and-run on Edinburgh’s Queensferry Road

A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a fatal hit-and-run crash on Queensferry Road in Edinburgh.

The incident happened around 11.15pm on Tuesday, April 8, and involved a Kawasaki KLE650 motorbike and a car, which left the scene before emergency services arrived.

The 61-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the car has now been traced, and the man charged in connection with a number of road traffic offences. Further investigations remain ongoing.

Sergeant Paul Ewing thanked the public for their help and added: “Our thoughts remain with the family of the man who died.”

Officers are continuing to appeal for information and urge anyone who can help to contact 101, quoting reference 4274 of 8 April, 2025.
