A man has been arrested after a teenager was assaulted in her car as she headed to work.

A man has been arrested after a teenager was assaulted in her car as she headed to work.

The woman was stopped at traffic lights in Uphall, West Lothian, when she was attacked by a man who reached inside the vehicle through the open window and punched her in the head and body.

She managed to drive away before contacting police. The incident happened on Station Road at a junction with the A89 at about 2pm on Tuesday.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is expected to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Thursday.
