Man arrested in connection with alleged stabbing in Bathgate

It follows an incident outside a gym.

A man has been arrested after a 26-year-old was allegedly stabbed near a gym in Bathgate.

The male victim suffered serious injuries in the incident, which happened at about 1.45pm on Tuesday in King Street, Bathgate, West Lothian.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where he is being treated. Police Scotland said a 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

He is expected to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Friday.
