Man arrested in connection with Livingston attempted murder

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder in Livingston this weekend

Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with an attempted murder in Livingston this weekend.

The incident happened on Shiel Walk in the town on Sunday morning(October 30), around 12:15am.

A 54-year-old man was found injured.

Officers attended and the injured man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where he is being treated for his injuries.

Hospital staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

Now a 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

He will appear at Livingston Sheriff Court today (October 31).

Enquiries are still on-going, with Police keen to track down any witnesses.

Detective Sergeant John Bowerbank of Livingston Police Station said: “At our enquiries progress I would appeal to anyone who witnesses this incident take place, or anyone who was in the area at the time who has any information that will assist our investigation.

“Anyone with information should contact 101 with reference number 0052 of 30 October. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
