Man arrested after train staff racially abused at Edinburgh Waverley

A man has allegedly racially abused a member of LNER staff at Edinburgh Waverley train station.

British Transport Police said the incident happened on Sunday.

After the incident was reported, the man tried to leg it from police but was caught following a 'short chase'.

Posting on X, BTP East Scotland, said: "Yesterday officers were alerted to a male who had racially abused @LNER staff at @NetworkRailEDB.

"Male identified and #arrested after a short chase.

"We do not tolerate this type of behaviour and will deal with those involved appropriately".
