Man arrested after serious assault in East Lothian

A man has been arrested following an alleged serious assault in an East Lothian town.

The 34-year-old was charged by Police Scotland following an incident which took place at around 9.50am on Sunday October 12.

Officers received reports of a serious assault of a man in the Market Street area of Haddington.

It is understood the 34-year-old will appear in Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 9.50am on Sunday, 12 October, 2025, police received a report of the serious assault of a man in the Market Street area of Haddington.

"A 34-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday, 17 October, 2025."
