Man arrested after firearm discharged in Edinburgh

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a firearm being discharged in Edinburgh last week.

The incident happened around 3.40pm on Thursday in the Hailesland Gardens area of the city.

A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to an injury to his arm.

Police said his injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

A 36-year-old man was previously arrested in connection with the incident but was later released pending further enquiries.

Officers say investigations are continuing and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
