Man appears in court following Gilmerton death

A 45-year old man has appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court charged with the murder of another man at a house in Gilmerton.

Paul Beattie made a brief appearance in private before Sheriff Fiona Tait.

No plea was made on his behalf and the case was continued for further inquiry.

Beattie was remanded in custody.

His appearance in court follows the death of 34-year old James Gatti, who died in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on Saturday night after being found with serious injuries in a house in Guardwell Glen.
