Man appears in court after death in Glenrothes
A man has appeared in court accused of murder after a body was found at a house in Glenrothes.
Ian Goodall was found dead at his home in the Fife town's Minto Crescent on Saturday morning.
Police arrested a man at the weekend and he appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court charged with his murder.
Detective Inspector Stuart Wilson, of the Police Scotland Major Investigation Team, said: "An extensive investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding Ian's death. We'd urge anyone who may have seen Ian in the local area, or anyone entering or leaving his home between midnight and 9.40am on Saturday, to get in touch as soon as possible. Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be vital in helping us to form a wider picture of the events leading up to Ian’s death."
Inspector Joanne McEwan, of Glenrothes police, added: "Local officers will be conducting reassurance patrols and doing all possible to support the MIT's investigation. Our condolences are with Ian’s family at this difficult time, and anyone in the community with concerns or information is urged to speak to officers."
