A man appeared in court earlier (24th June) charged with the murder of a father-of-two found dying in the street.

Darren Adie, 42, died after he was found injured on Tweed Avenue in Kirkcaldy around 6.45pm on May 28. Gordon Coventry, 51, of Kirkcaldy today appeared in court charged with his murder.

Facing a single charge of murder on petition at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, Coventry made no plea or declaration during a brief private appearance.

The case was continued for further examination and he was remanded in custody meantime.

Mr Coventry is expected to appear in court again next week.
