Man accused of attempted murder of one-day old baby in Glenrothes
A man is accused of assaulting and trying to kill a baby girl from when she was a day old.
Christopher Kirk, 28, today faced the accusations at the High Court in Glasgow.
The attempted murder charge includes claims he shouted at the child, squeezed and shook her as well as repeatedly striking her head.
The allegation spans between March 2018 and January 2019 at addresses in Glenrothes, Fife.
Kirk is also accused of assaulting another child to the danger of his life.
The boy is said to be only days old when the alleged attacks started.
This charge features a claim Kirk repeatedly pushed the child down on a sofa causing him to bounce up and down violently.
Prosecutors allege this occurred between August 2014 and August 2015 in different places in Fife.
Kirk further faces a separate neglect charge.
He today/yesterday denied the charges during a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
Lady Dorrian set a trial due to begin next April.
Bail for Kirk, of Kirkcaldy, Fife, was continued meantime.
