An appeal against a red card shown to Livingston midfielder Jason Holt has been turned down.

Holt was sent off in the 15th minute of the West Lothian club's match with Hibernian at Easter Road on Saturday (December 24).

Livi would go on to lose the game 4-0.

A tweet from the club's Twitter account said:

"The club is incredibly disappointed to confirm that our appeal against the red card shown to Jason Holt at the weekend has been unsuccessful.

"With that said, we accept the decision made by the independent panel and Jason will now be suspended for our next two fixtures."

Earlier today (December 29) the club lodged an appeal against the dismissal of another midfielder, Scott Pittman, in last night's draw with St Mirren.

The outcome of that appeal is yet to be confirmed.
