LISTEN: We hear from befrienders who signed up through our #TakeTheTime campaign

This morning we're hearing from a new befriender who has signed up on the back of our #TakeTheTime campaign.

In recent weeks we've been looking at the issue of loneliness and social isolation across the country and encouraging you to give up some of your time to help those in need.

So far over 1,000 people have signed up as part of our campaign.

Befriending involves being matched with someone in your local area suffering from loneliness and spending quality time with them on a regular basis.

Linda Ross from Edinburgh signed up and is currently going through the matching process but is set to befriend a disabled person.

She herself is disabled after being involved in a car accident. She sat down with our senior reporter Hope Webb to discuss how the new relationship will benefit her as well.
