LISTEN: Mum of West Calder Teen Who Died Of Cancer Shares Excitement Of Reaching Fundraising Milestone
We've been speaking to the Mum of inspirational West Calder teen Jak Trueman, who set up a fundraising campaign before he died of cancer earlier this year, as the appeal reaches a major milestone of £100,000.
15-year-old Jak launched the campaign to help raise money for a special retreat for children affected by cancer, not long after being diagnosed with cancer himself earlier this year.
But sadly, Jak died in February, before he could see the fundraising reach the six figure sum milestone he had hoped for.
His family and friends have carried on raising money in his memory, and have set up the Team Jak Foundation, with the goal of opening the centre, named 'Jak's Den'.
We spoke to Alison Barr, Jak's Mum, about how she felt reaching the milestone.
