The mother of French student Antoine Maury, who drowned in Duddingston Loch last year, has warned of the dangers of hallucinogenic drugs.

Laura Maury has spoken to Forth News is her first radio interview and shared that it is now known that the 21-year-old took 'magic mushrooms' before his death.

Antoine, a music student at Edinburgh College, was socialising with friends at the Milton Road Campus on October 24 when he abruptly left the group late at night.

Later that night he was spotted running through Holyrood Park topless.

After weeks of extensive searching, his body was recovered from Duddingston Loch in early December.

Now, Laura Maury says she wants other young people to learn from Antoine's mistakes. She also says the support and love from the people of Scotland have helped her through the last six months.
