Forth News is hearing from a Livingston man who's urging people to sign up after waiting on a kidney transplant for over 10 years.

Since birth, Scott MacDonald has endured years of dialysis, a failed kidney transplant and now the wait for the lifesaving donor kidney he needs to survive.

The call for more people to join the Register has been issued as latest figures reveal that every day in the UK, someone dies waiting on an organ transplant.

Latest figures highlight there are 540 people in Scotland waiting on life-saving transplant.

People in need of a transplant can spend years on the waiting list, enduring debilitating breathlessness, lethargy, and long periods of dialysis and hospitalisation.

Currently 51% of people living in the NHS Lothian area are on the NHS Organ Donor Register.
