Dunfermline footballer Joe Cardle is raising money to help families of premature babies after his daughter was born seven weeks early.

Lyla-Jo was born prematurely at Victoria Hospital last June and spent a month in the special baby unit until she was healthy enough to go home.

Six months on she is thriving but Joe wants to do something to support other parents going through a similarly difficult time.

He and his partner Lucy-Anne have started a £5,000 fundraising campaign to buy ten incubator webcams for the same unit that Lyla-Jo spent time in.

The cameras will allow parents to watch their little girls and boys when they are forced to go home and leave them at the hospital.

Our reporter Hope Webb spoke to Joe Cardle about his experience and why this is a cause so close to his heart.
