LISTEN: Colleagues of Edinburgh nurse killed by car in police chase say they are "overwhelmed" by fundraising
Over £12,000 has been raised for Jill Pirrie's family.
Forth News has been speaking to the colleagues of an Edinburgh nurse, who was killed during a police chase last week, after a fundraising campaign they set up has raised over £12,000.
33-year-old Jill Pirrie was walknig home from a shift at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary last Thursday night, when she was struck by a car on Old Dalkeith Road. That car was being pursued by police at the time.
Jill died in hospital, and has left behind her partner and 5-year-old son.
Now her colleagues at the Royal Infirmary have set up a fundraising page, in order to raise money for her young son. That has so far gathered over £12,000 from donations.
