Liam Fee murder trial hears evidence from tragic toddler's mum
The interview was recorded the day after his death
The Liam Fee murder trial has been hearing evidence from the Fife toddler's mum, from an interview recorded the day after the little boy's death.
Rachel Trelfa told police of the moment she learned of his death, and said she heard a "blood-curdling scream" coming from the two-year-old's bedroom and her civil partner Nyomi Fee calling: "Rachel, Rachel, Rachel!"
Rachel, 31, said she panicked and got up from the living room couch and ran into Liam's room.
She told police: "As I got in Nyomi was just putting Liam on the floor.
"I immediately saw he was pure white and lifeless.
"I then told Nyomi to phone 999 and get the ambulance. She put Liam down on the floor.
"I remember moving his head back, lifting his chin a bit. As I did this Nyomi said: "Let me do it" as the person on the phone was telling her what to do."
She added: "I was a wreck."
Rachel and Nyomi, 29, are accused of murdering little Liam by repeatedly inflicting blunt force trauma on his head and body on March 22 2014 and trying to defeat the ends of justice by blaming a seven-year-old boy for killing him.
They are also charged with a catalogue of child neglect and abuse charges involving Liam and two other boys in their care, including the one they blame for the murder. Among other things they are accused of forcing the children to take cold showers as punishment for wetting the bed.
They deny all the charges against them.
