Administrators say they are in 'advanced discussions' as they try to find a buyer for two branches of a car dealership in Edinburgh after announcing a third showroom in Selkirk will close with the loss of 23 jobs.

The Leven Car Company employs another 116 people at sites in Murrayfield and Corstorphine selling Rolls Royces and Aston Martins.

Stuart Robb and Michelle Elliot of Leonard Curtis Business Rescue & Recovery Glasgow were brought in to try to save the business on Tuesday 7th January.

In an update released today (15 Jan) they confirmed Kia and Suzuki dealerships on a site in Selkirk have closed with immediate effect due to limited interest.

The Joint Administrators have adopted a 'hold' strategy at the Edinburgh locations whilst discussions with unnamed interested parties continue.

Mr Robb said, "We appreciate that this is disappointing news for the staff based at Selkirk.

"Our focus is to ensure that those employees affected by redundancy there receive the best support possible.

"In terms of the remaining parts of the business, there has been significant interest and we are in advanced discussions with a number of parties.

"We would like to thank the employees for their continued patience and support during this difficult period.

"Rest assured, we will endeavour to provide them with an update as soon as possible."
