Knifepoint robbery in West Lothian newsagents

Police are asking for witnesses to come forward, after a newsagents was robbed at knifepoint in West Lothian. A man entered the Hendrie Newsagent store on Park View in Stoneyburn around 5pm on Friday 28th November. He threatened staff with the weapon, before making off with a three figure sum of cash. The culprit has been described being 20 to 30 years old; between 5 ft 6ins and 5 ft 8ins tall; and was wearing a dark waterproof jacket, jeans and a blue/grey scarf covering his face. Detective Constable Jo McCall, of Livingston CID, said: "Fortunately, no staff or customers were injured during the robbery, but all were left understandably shaken as a result. "We would urge anyone who witnessed anything suspicious around the store or in the Park View area of Stoneyburn around 5pm on Friday 28th November to contact police immediately. "In addition, anyone who recognises the description of the suspect and can help us trace him is also asked to get in touch."
