Kirkcaldy road accident cyclist dies in hospital
A cyclist has died in hospital two weeks after he was knocked down by a car.
Gary Christie, 38, was seriously injured in the collision with a red Vauxhall Corsa in Carberry Road, Kirkcaldy, Fife, on the morning of Tuesday November 1.
He was taken to the Victoria Hospital in the town but later transferred to Edinburgh Western General, where he died on November 14.
Mr Christie's family, from Cupar, thanked hospital staff for their care and said the father-of-two will be sadly missed''.
A statement released through police said: Gary was a loving and devoted father to his two sons, Lewis and Ryan.
He always put others first and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank staff at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, and the Western General, Edinburgh.''
Police have renewed an appeal for any witnesses.
Sergeant James Henry said: This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with Gary's family.
We are still investigating this collision and would ask that anyone with information contact us as soon as possible.''
