A woman found guilty of murder following a trial at The High Court in Glasgow has been handed a life sentence today.

Tammy Hoggan, 29, will serve a minimum of 13 years in prison after being convicted for killing Leslie Carrington in Kirkcaldy in December 2013.

The 48-year-old was found seriously injured at a flat in Melrose Crescent having been stabbed several times in the chest.

Despite a prompt response from the Scottish Ambulance Service and local police, Leslie Carrington subsequently succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Detectives from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team carried out significant enquiry before arresting and charging Hoggan with murder.
