A man has died, with Police treating the death as unexplained, at a Kirkcaldy department store

A man has died after "taking unwell" at a Kirkcaldy department store.

'Rejects' has advised it will be closed the remainder of today (January 6th) and tomorrow due to "bereavement".

Emergency services were called to the scene just after lunch time but the 62-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police in Fife say they are treating the death as unexplained, with an investigation underway.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.20pm on Friday, 6 January, 2023, officers were called to a report of a man taking unwell at a premises on St Clair Street, Kirkcaldy.

“Emergency services attended however the 62-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances.”

A post from the Rejects department store on their Facebook page reads:

"Due to bereavement, we will be closed the remainder of today and also tomorrow Saturday January 7th.

"Apologies for any inconvenience."
