Kira Noble heading back to US for further cancer treatment
Edinburgh teen Kira Noble - who was at the centre of a huge fundraising campaign - is to head back to the US for more life-saving cancer treatment.
Doctors have discovered that the 15-year-old's neuroblastoma has progressed and she now requires proton beam therapy, which is not available on the US.
Earlier this year £275,000 was raised by the public to send her to NYC for treatment and money from that fund will pay for this treatment in New Jersey also.
It's hoped she will head Stateside in a matter of weeks.
Kira told Forth News: "It's absolutely insane how much has been raised, to know that everyone got behind me and just kept giving, it's just amazing.
"I don't like to be negative about it cause it doesn't get you anywhere. I try to stay positive and upbeat and have a normal life in between, that's what keeps me going."
Kira's Mum Aud Noble says: "We feel very very humbled that everybody took Kira in to their hearts and chose to raise so much for us. That just takes the stress out of the equation, which is just fantastic.
"I always say thank-you, but I just don't believe it is a big enough word."
