Kenny Miller urges Livingston fans to be patient over new signings
Kenny Miller has warned Livingston fans they might face a wait until he can bring in more players.
Livi secured a Betfred Cup bonus point after a goalless draw at Hamilton on Tuesday to put themselves in a strong position to qualify for the second round.
But both sides lacked a cutting edge at New Douglas Park and Miller turned to teenage striker Jack Hamilton to replace him up front, despite the 18-year-old only just overcoming an ankle problem.
Player-manager Miller, whose team host group leaders Annan on Saturday, said: ''I'm pleased with the result and felt we deserved the extra point against a Premiership team who've stayed up for the last four years. These are the kind of games we'll be facing this season.
However, the game highlights the fact that we do need more bodies in to bolster the squad and give the lads a bit of help.
We have a few things we're hoping to tie off in the next week to 10 days. However, when you have a limited budget then you really need to make sure that whoever comes in is going to add value to the group.
The reason it's taking time is because we literally can't afford to get this wrong - we have to do our homework, which is why we've had so many players in on trial.
It lets us have a look at them and see whether they will be able to integrate with the dressing room because any new boys must fit in.
Consequently, I'm working every single day - even at home, I'm constantly on the phone, making use of contacts to try and get some bodies in and I'm confident we'll add at least a couple more.''
