Celtic have completed the signing of midfielder James McCarthy on a four-year deal.
The Republic of Ireland international has joined on a free transfer after his contract at Crystal Palace expired this summer.
The 30-year old becomes the latest signing for Ange Postecoglou as he looks to rebuild the Hoops' squad.
McCarthy told the club website: “To have signed for Celtic is a brilliant feeling and this is a special day for me and my family.
“I know all about the club, the size of it and all the success it’s enjoyed, particularly in recent years. I’m looking forward to pulling on the Hoops, playing at Paradise and helping the team deliver more success to these amazing fans in the seasons ahead.”
Glasgow-born McCarthy broke onto the scene at Hamilton, making his debut for the club before his 16th birthday.
He had three successful years with the Lanarkshire side before sealing a move to Wigan for a fee of ÂŁ1.2million.
His stock continued to rise after four seasons in the Premier League when Everton came calling.
A transfer in the region of ÂŁ13million pounds took him to Goodison Park.
McCarthy's Everton career started brightly before he was blighted by injuries and spent most of his final three seasons in the treatment room.
A move to Crystal Palace followed where he spent two seasons.
