An independent inquiry into the closure of 17 Edinburgh schools, after structural faults were discovered, will begin in August.
Last month the schools were shut after a number of inspections found that there were serious faults within the building's structures. All 17 schools were built under the Edinburgh Schools Partnership by Miller Construction.
A number of pupils have been moved to temporary teaching facilities, but nine schools are to remain closed until after the summer holidays.
Now today we've been hearing more details about the independent inquiry which will look into why and how this happened.
It will begin on the 17th of August, once all of the affected pupils are back in to their own schools.
The council have begun looking for a independent senior figure, who can be appointed as the Chair of the inquiry. They are searching for an individual with expertise in construction and similar contracts used in this case. The council said they may have to look to England to find an appropriate Chair.
It's not yet known how much the inquiry could cost, but the Council says they are pushing the Edinburgh Schools Partnership to pay for it in full, but say they "can't be 100% confident" that that will happen.
It is expected the inquiry will conclude before the end of the year.
