Holyrood Park beauty spot could close over rock fall fears
A popular path through Holyrood Park could close, after a number of rock falls.
The Radical Road path through Holyrood Park could be closed permanently because of fears over rock falls.
The popular footpath was temporarily closed last September after 50 tonnes of rocks fell from the cliffs.
But it could now be closed for good.
Angus MIller, chairman of the Scottish Geodiversity Forum, said: "I think it would be a shame if the whole path closed, because it's a beautiful walk.
"But I do understand the concerns of the rock fall from the cliff and the dangers of that.
"Solutions are being looked at including putting netting up and stabilising the rock face.
"It is a big issue, there's a lot of rock there and there has been a lot of rock fall the last few years."
