Hillend revamp moves forward with a zip line and 'alpine coaster' planned
Councillors have approved the final business case.
Hillend Snowsports Centre is getting a big revamp after Midlothian councillors gave the green light to the final business case for the project.
The move, which approves a capital spend of around £24.5m, means more detailed plans will now be drawn up.
Lots of new facilities are expected including a zip line, alpine coaster, glamping complex and bigger car park.
It's hoped the attraction, named Destination Hillend, will pull in around 600,000 visitors annually and forecasts suggest it will pay for itself.
The development will take two or three years to complete.
