High Winds Delay Opening of Flagship Fringe Venue

Published 4th Aug 2015

Strong winds have delayed the opening of a flagship venue at this year's Edinburgh Fringe.

The gusts have been too strong to fully erect a giant circus tent on the Meadows and the poor weather conditions are forecast to continue for the next couple of days.

Organisers, The Underbelly say they have been prevented from putting the cover on Lafayette on schedule.

They have decided to delay the opening of the shows in the tent until Monday next week.

The smaller tent, Beauty, will open as planned on Friday. All customers with tickets for shows this weekend are being contacted and anyone who can't reshedule will be given a refund.
