Organisers of Edinburgh's Hidden Door festival reveal move to Granton
The music festival is due to return in September

The lineup for Hidden Door festival has been announced for the five-day event set to go ahead this September.
The music and art festival will take place at Granton’s Gasworks site instead of its usual home in Edinburgh's Old Town and will include performances from the likes of Pictish Trail, Rival Consoles and Hannah Diamond.
Creative Director David Martin hopes the festival will offer much-needed support for artists after an “unbelievably difficult” year.
He said: “I think it has derailed a lot of careers. For the arts - momentum is really important. Once you kind of get going you have to really surf that wave.
“The pandemic put an end to gigs, so a lot of people are really starting from scratch.
“So, we’re not looking to try and do something for the big headliners - this festival that we’re putting on is for the up-and-coming artists – those that need help to get back on the rollercoaster.”
Organisers say they will adhere to social distancing guidelines, with tickets released in small batches depending on tier announcements.
Many festivals going ahead this year are calling for a full lifting of restrictions to ensure the best experience.
While David would love for a full easing of social distancing in time for Hidden Door, he said it is not something that should be rushed into: “Easing guidelines is something that’s vital for festivals – especially outdoor ones like Hidden Door,” said David.
He continued: “It’s not just about attending and event with some good music happening – it's about the collective experience, sharing that event with other people around you.”
“I think some people who have that personality - who as soon as restrictions are lifted, will be right in the crowd and loving it, but some others will be more hesitant and I think we have to accommodate for all kinds of people.
“All though we would definitely push for social distancing to be lifted we would also want to be able to respect and accommodate those kinds of people that did still want to have a bit of personal space in order to feel safe and comfortable while we’re getting used to each other again.”
