Hibs winger Martin Boyle ruled out for rest of season
The Australian international was forced to pull out of Australia's World Cup squad
Hibs winger Martin Boyle will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his knee.
The Australian international was ruled out of the World Cup after coming off injured against St Mirren in late October.
Further scans have uncovered a pre-existing ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
The 29-year old has since gone under the knife in Qatar with the Easter Road side confirming he won't play again this campaign.
Manager, Lee Johnson told the club's official website: “It has been a tough few weeks for Martin and we are all gutted for him.
“Now, it’s up to us to rally around him and make sure we support him on every level throughout his recovery.
“Short term – it is a big blow for us, but we will do everything we can to support Martin to make sure he comes back fitter, stronger and a better player than before, just like Kevin Nisbet has shown in his recovery.”
