Hibernian have completed the signing of former St Mirren midfielder Jake Doyle-Hayes on a free transfer after his contract with the Paisley club expired.

The 22-year had been linked with a move to Dundee United in recent days - but has instead sealed a move to Easter Road.

Doyle-Hayes joined the Buddies last summer after leaving Aston Villa and went on to impress at the SMISA Stadium.

He made 30 appearances in all competitions as Jim Goodwin's side finished 7th in the Premiership and made it to the semi-final of both domestic cup competitions.

Speaking to Hibernian's official webiste, Doyle-Hayes said: "After speaking to the manager, I was delighted to get this opportunity.

"I enjoy both sides of the game.

"I enjoy digging in and defending and helping the back four, but I also like chipping in with a few assists and maybe a couple of goals if I am lucky".

Doyle-Hayes will join up with the squad ahead of a pre-season training camp in England next week.

He becomes Jack Ross' second signing of the summer after they brought in Daniel Mackay from Inverness at the end of last month.

Former Hibernian goalkeeper Ofir Marciano has also found a new club.

The Israel international left at the end of last season to pursue opportunities and has joined Dutch side Feyenoord.
