Darren McGregor has described his move to Easter Road as a dream come true'' after swapping Rangers for Ladbrokes Championship rivals Hibernian.
The 30-year-old was confirmed as a Hibs player less than 24 hours after his exit from Ibrox was confirmed.
McGregor and the Glasgow club terminated his contract by mutual consent after he failed to feature under Mark Warburton.
The former Cowdenbeath and St Mirren defender was Rangers' player of the year in his only full season at Ibrox but the arrivals of James Tavernier, Dominic Ball, Danny Wilson and Rob Kiernan saw him slip out of the first-team picture.
But that has allowed the Edinburgh-born centre-back to join his boyhood heroes on a two-year deal.
McGregor, who played much of last season at right-back, told www.hibernianfc.co.uk: I'm absolutely delighted to sign for Hibs - it's a dream come true for me to play for the club.
I've supported Hibs my whole life, so to now get the opportunity to sign for the club is brilliant."
