Hibs boss Neil Lennon warns Efe Ambrose to return to training as soon as possible

Hibernian boss Neil Lennon has warned Efe Ambrose to return to training as soon as possible after the defender failed to show when expected.

The 28-year-old, who completed a permanent move from Celtic this summer following a loan spell at Easter Road, was given some extra time off but Lennon confirmed he had taken liberties.

The former Celtic manager could not even get hold of Ambrose to find out where he was.

We gave him some time off but I think he's extended his extended time off,'' Lennon told Sky Sports News HQ.The sooner he comes back in the better for him.''

Hibs begin their Betfred Cup campaign at home to Montrose on Saturday.

He should be back this week,'' Lennon said.He will obviously miss the game this weekend but he should be back for Ross County.''

When asked whether the Nigerian would face disciplinary action, Lennon said: That will be done privately.'
