Hearts Wins Appeal Over Callum Paterson Red Card Against Hamilton
Hearts have won their appeal against Callum Paterson's New Douglas Park red card.
The full-back was shown a straight red card by Willie Collum for a strong challenge on Hamilton midfielder Darian MacKinnon during Saturday's Ladbrokes Premiership contest. But a disciplinary panel has reduced the offence from serious foul play to a yellow card for "recklessly dangerous play''.
The Scotland Under-21 international is now free to play against Inverness on September 11.
Meanwhile, St Johnstone defender Brad McKay has been censured for comments he made about Hearts striker Juanma Delgado.
The former Hearts player was found guilty of making an offensive comment by saying: "He's a typical foreigner, he gets touched and goes down. He was holding the back of his head and rolling about the place.''
But McKay will not face any suspension or further punishment for the offence.
