Harry Clarke joins Stoke City following Hibs exit
The defender was recalled by Arsenal this summer
Harry Clarke has joined Stoke City on loan after Arsenal cut his loan spell at Hibernian short.
The 21-year old was due to spend the season at Easter Road after moving in January.
However, Arsenal decided to activate a clause to recall the defender in order to ship him out elsewhere.
Clarke impressed during a spell at Ross County during the first half of last season and caught the eye of Hibernian.
Injury stunted his progress in the second half of the campaign where he was only able to make seven appearances.
Hopes were high going forward for the former England youth international but he will now spend the campaign in the English Championship instead.
Clarke told Stoke's official website: “It feels unreal coming to a club like this. It’s been a dream to play in the Championship for a while now so it’s good that it’s finally over the line.
“Obviously we had to deal with leaving Hibs, which had to be done the right way, but I’ve been excited about it ever since I heard about it.
“I see Stoke City as a Premier League club like a lot of people do. I want to be part of something special here this year, getting the Club back to where they belong.”
