Police in Grangemouth are appealing for information after a man driving a car approached several children on Saturday.

A 15-year-old girl was first approached at 4pm by a man driving a Vauxhall Vectra or Astra on Moray Place.

Later, around 8pm, a man with the same description stopped his car beside a group of girls on Oldwalls Place, near Charlotte Dundas Court, to speak to them.

The man is described as black, around 6ft, of slim build, with short cropped hair and a foreign accent.

He was also wearing a green jacket, blue baggy jeans and a blue surgical style mask which he removed when speaking.

Community Sergeant Iain Duncan said: “We understand incidents like this can be concerning for the local community and I would like to give reassurance that officers are working to trace the man involved.

“I would ask anyone who may have seen him or know of him approaching anyone to get in touch.

“In particular if you have private CCTV or dash-cam footage that might help with our enquiries, please make contact with us.

“Regular patrols are being carried out in the area and anyone with concerns can approach and speak to officers.

"Anyone with information that could assist with enquiries are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident numbers 2628 and 4175 of Saturday, 17 September, 2022, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
