'Credible charities' interested in taking over Gorgie City Farm
The attraction collapsed into liquidation but there is hope it can be saved.
There is hope Edinburgh's Gorgie City Farm can be saved after it emerged 'several credible charities' have expressed an interest in taking over the attraction.
The community farm collapsed into liquidation last week with the loss of 18 jobs.
Edinburgh Council leader, Adam McVey met with liquidators on Tuesday (5 Nov) and said 'there are options going forward'.
Cllr McVey told Forth News, "Hopefully we can find a key partner, get the farm open again and have a fantastic facility.
"The site is not for sale. The animals, equipment and assets are going to remain on site.
"We are very keen that Gorgie farm reopens and working in the right way with the liquidator and organisation that are interested in taking on that facility, I think we can get to that positive solution.
