Craig Gordon believes Scotland are ready to turn performances in to points
Scotland face Croatia and Poland in their final Nations League matches
Craig Gordon believes Scotland are ready to turn strong performances in to points ahead of their final Nations League matches against Croatia and Poland.
Steve Clarke’s side are currently bottom of Group A1 with just one point after four games.
A dismal 2024 has seen Scotland win just one of their past 16 matches.
However, Gordon is confident the team can turn around their form and retain their place in the top tier.
The goalkeeper said: “We’ve played well in the games at this level, in this group, we don’t feel that we have the points that we have possibly deserved to get.
“You have to be almost perfect at this level to maintain that throughout 90 minutes and get the points on the board.
“It’s difficult, but we want to keep improving, we want to keep bettering ourselves, and the only way to do that is to play against the best teams.
“And that’s at this level so we want to try and continue that.”
He continued: "The next challenge now is to turn good performances in to three points.
"We need to get as many as we possibly can in this group to try and stay at this level.
"It's a big couple of games coming up."
The last-placed team after six matches will be relegated to the second tier while the team in third place will face a relegation play-off.
Scotland are three points behind third-placed Poland, who they play away from home on Monday, and six behind second-placed Croatia, who they host at Hampden on Friday.
