Four Arrests following North Edinburgh drugs seizure

Four people have been arrested and charged after police in Edinburgh seized large quantities of Class A and B drugs in the North of the city. Officers carried out two searches of addresses in Wardieburn Place on Wednesday 10th February where heroin worth over Ā£132,000 was recovered along with cocaine valued at Ā£40,000 and cannabis worth around Ā£1,800. A three-figure sum of cash was also removed during the inquiries at the properties. A 21-year-old man and three women aged 20, 54 and 23 will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today charged with drug offences. Detective Inspector Alan Oā€™Brien from the Proactive Unit at Gayfield Police Station said: ā€œOnce again, our communities have come forward with vital information relating to drug crime resulting in Wednesdayā€™s enforcement activity, which saw the recovery of large quantities of harmful substances. ā€œI would like to thank the public for their continued support and would ask that anyone with information about ongoing criminal activity in their area contacts police immediately. ā€œRest assured, we will utilise all resources at our disposal to investigate any reports of crime and bring those responsible to justice. ā€œAnyone wishing to contact us with information can do so by calling 101 or by making an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.ā€
