Four people have been arrested and charged after police in Edinburgh seized large quantities of Class A and B drugs in the North of the city. Officers carried out two searches of addresses in Wardieburn Place on Wednesday 10th February where heroin worth over £132,000 was recovered along with cocaine valued at £40,000 and cannabis worth around £1,800. A three-figure sum of cash was also removed during the inquiries at the properties. A 21-year-old man and three women aged 20, 54 and 23 will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today charged with drug offences. Detective Inspector Alan O’Brien from the Proactive Unit at Gayfield Police Station said: “Once again, our communities have come forward with vital information relating to drug crime resulting in Wednesday’s enforcement activity, which saw the recovery of large quantities of harmful substances. “I would like to thank the public for their continued support and would ask that anyone with information about ongoing criminal activity in their area contacts police immediately. “Rest assured, we will utilise all resources at our disposal to investigate any reports of crime and bring those responsible to justice. “Anyone wishing to contact us with information can do so by calling 101 or by making an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
